Volunteer With Us!

Volunteers are the heart of the Sciencenter! Join our vibrant volunteer community and make an impact.

Volunteers are an integral part of the Sciencenter team!

Do you have a passion for staying curious about the world around you? Do you love learning and helping others explore their world? Are you interested in holding snakes and other cool critters? If you said yes to ANY of these questions, then join our team as a Sciencenter volunteer.

You will receive ongoing opportunities to grow and gain skills within the organization.

Science content expertise is not required.

Volunteer Opportunities

Education Programming Assistant: Enhance the visitor experience by facilitating hands-on activities, supporting memorable interactions with exhibits, and helping to maintain a safe, clean museum environment for all.

Animal Room/Tidepool Touch Tank Facilitator: Introduce our visitors to teaching reptiles and Tidepool Touch Tank inhabitants. Training in these areas is available to experienced volunteers.

Special Events: Individual and group volunteers are needed for 2-4 hour shifts at special events, generally on weekends and weekday evenings throughout the year.

Group Volunteer Opportunities

The Sciencenter has limited one-time group volunteer opportunities throughout the year. For more information, please email us at volunteer@sciencenter.org.

After we receive your application, expect to go through the following steps:

1. Come in for a 15 minute interview and explore session. The explore session is an opportunity for you to explore the museum as a visitor and better understand the visitor experience.

2. Attend an orientation: attend a 3-hour in-person orientation.

3. Schedule your recurring shift with us!

Must be at least 14 years old to volunteer.
