Mobilab is a fun-filled lab where young explorers dive into the thrilling world of trial and error, just like real scientists! Get ready to craft different toy vehicles and put them through some wild challenges. Tinker, test, and tweak until your creation zooms just the way you like it!

Curiosity Corner
Curiosity Corner is a lively, safe space for kids aged four and under. It offers hands-on exploration and play with features like an infant area, water table, activity stations, and an outdoor Curiosity Playground. It’s tailored for small hands and curious minds to have a vibrant learning experience.
Saltonstall Animal Room
Explore our Saltonstall Animal Room with habitats showcasing global biodiversity, categorized by amphibians, reptiles, and fish. Experience diverse environments, from tropical rainforests with green tree pythons to a North Carolina shipwreck housing invasive red lionfish. Discover local wildlife in the New York Natives gallery, along with other fascinating creatures.
Tidepool Touch Tank
Experience live marine life at our Tidepool Touch Tank, offering hands-on encounters with ocean-dwelling creatures like Forbes Sea Stars, Hermit Crabs, and Horseshoe Crabs. Our companion aquarium showcases coral reef species from resilient ‘back reef’ environments with powerful waves and currents.
Connection Zone
Come build and create using our always-popular blue blocks! These fun blocks allow for imaginations to run wild while creating fun structures!

Quantum Gallery
Visit the Quantum Gallery for an interactive exhibition on Earth and space science. Learn about our planet, solar system, universe, and NASA’s exploration. Created by the NISE Network and NASA, it’s a captivating exploration of cosmic phenomena.
Curiosity Playground
For our youngest visitors aged four and under, the Curiosity Playground located outside of the Curiosity Corner provides a dedicated space for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to crawl, climb, and explore.
Family Learning Area
The Family Learning Area offers kits for toddlers and preschoolers to discover sensory learning and motor skills. Join us for Science Together for interactive activities designed for children ages 0-4 and their caregivers. Check our calendar for upcoming activities!
Watergates Gallery
Explore hydrology and civil engineering with rubber ducks. Build a gravity dam with metal blocks to prevent creek flooding.
Build Space
Visit the Build Space for imaginative engineering projects. Kids can unleash creativity, problem-solve, and bring ideas to life using various materials. Build with PVC pipes, test sturdy structures on the Shake Table, or collaborate with friends using wooden planks for big, exciting creations.
Mezzanine Gallery
Visit the Mezzanine Gallery for a closer look at our animal collection. Observe, compare, and study them to gain a deeper understanding. Thanks to Legacy Foundation funding, exhibits have accessible doors for easy interaction, allowing staff and volunteers to bring animals out to meet visitors.
Science Park
Experience interactive outdoor science exhibits at the Science Park. Learn about sound, motion, water, and physics through hands-on activities like music-making, bouncing on a Kevlar cable bridge, and exploring geometry on a 14-foot rope structure. Visit our Science Park page to discover more!
Energy Gallery
Changing Skies invites hands-on exploration of weather. Discover local weather patterns and how topography affects conditions. Create rain, sleet, or snow, and manipulate landscapes to understand water flow. Observe Sciencenter’s weather station data to track changes. Learn how topographical features impact weather. Experiment with air movement at the Mist Table, and more!
