Engaging, educating and empowering programs are available for families, school groups and children of all ages.

In-Person Programs

Science Connections: Come learn from and meet local scientists and experts every Saturday at 2pm in the Sciencenter Connection Zone (admission required). These programs are fun for all ages and focus on topics like reptiles, tree rings, seeds, and microbes! Check our calendar page to learn more about upcoming programs.

Science Together: Join us for Science Together at 10:30 am, Tuesday through Friday! Each week we’ll explore an activity designed for children ages 0-4, and their guardians to explore different science processes together. These Science Together activities will take place in the Sciencenter (admission required). See which Science Together activities are coming up on our calendar page!

Science Together

Join us with your kids for hands-on science discovery!

Engage with children (all ages welcome) as you investigate science processes through self-guided, hands-on activities. Explore a new activity and science process each week.

Living Lab with Cornell Researchers

Take part in exciting research about child development with the Cornell Early Childhood Cognition Lab, Cornell Infant Studies Lab, and Development of Social Cognition Lab.Living Lab brings science and kids together! In this program, university researchers will bring activities, games, and puzzles for kids to explore. These interactions will help the researchers conduct real life studies! Participation is always optional.

Future Science Leaders

Future Science Leaders

The Future Science Leaders (FSL) program focuses on leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills for students in grades 6-8. These Future Science Leaders learn about various areas of science and communicate science with Sciencenter guests through four different strands: hands-on activities, digital media, scientific research, and exhibits. This program is free to all current Sciencenter members.

The Sciencenter also offers both a summer program and a summer camp for science enthusiasts entering grades 7 – 9. Summer camp programs for grades 7 – 9.

School Field Trips & Group Visits

Temporarily Unavailable due to COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Experience the night sky indoors with the Starlab. The Sciencenter will bring this portable planetarium to your school or organization and take your students on an exciting tour of the constellations. Programs can be tailored to specific grade levels. Topics include: astronomy, earth science, history, and mythology.

  • Capacity: Seating for up to 25 people.
  • Space Requirements: The Starlab requires a 22 by 22 foot space with a ceiling height of 12 feet
  • Cost: $175 for the first show and $75 each additional show.
  • Maximum of five shows per day.
