Museum Visit and Discovery Space

When you visit the Sciencenter, your class can also reserve a private visit to the museum's Discovery Space, hosted by a Sciencenter educator. The Discovery Space provides school-age kids with a place to explore the world of science at their own pace. Students spend time engaged in self-directed, hands-on, independent learning experiences as they invesigate science through activities, games and experiments.
The Discovery Space supports nearly all of the New York State Learning Standards for Mathematics, Science and Technology:
- Standard 1 - Analysis, Inquiry and Design
- Standard 3 - Mathematics
- Standard 4 - Science
- Standard 5 - Technology
- Standard 6 - Interconnectedness
A Sciencenter educator can help you identify the discovery boxes that are best aligned with your curriculum and class interests.
