Engaging, educating and empowering programs are available for families, school groups and children of all ages.

In-Person Programs

Science Together: Join us for Science Together again at 10:30 am, Wednesday- Friday! Each week we’ll explore an activity designed for children of all ages, and their guardians to explore different science processes together. These Science Together activities will take place in the Sciencenter (admission required). Face masks are required for everyone ages 2+. Hands-on Science: Come visit to join us for a rotating selection of fun, interactive, hands-on science activities happening each afternoon at the museum (admission required). Programs include Spin Art Nebula, Loop Gliders, Constellation Tubes, family guided Discovery Boxes, and more! Face masks are required for everyone ages 2+. Check our calendar page to learn more about upcoming programs. We can’t wait to see you!

FREE Community Science Programs: Join us on Saturdays at 10 am for a fun science activity (like snake shows or exploring bubbles) for the whole family to enjoy! The location of these activities (Conley Park, Sciencenter parking lot, etc.) will vary, so be sure to check the calendar page for details! Face masks are required for everyone ages 2+. These programs practice physical distancing.
In the case of inclement weather activities may be moved indoors or postponed.

Virtual Programs

In an effort to continue to bring fun, science education to you at home, Sciencenter educators are facilitating “Science Lab Live!” via Zoom every Tuesday at 3:30 pm. Click here for the Zoom link! Living Lab with Cornell Researchers

At this time we are not doing Living Lab. We look forward to resuming this in the future.

Take part in exciting research about child development with the Cornell Early Childhood Cognition Lab, Cornell Infant Studies Lab, and Development of Social Cognition Lab.

Future Science Leaders

Future Science Leaders

The Future Science Leaders (FSL) program focuses on leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills for middle school aged participants. These Future Science Leaders learn about various areas of science and communicate science with Sciencenter guests through four different strands: hands-on activities, digital media, scientific research, and exhibits. This program is free to all current Sciencenter members.

The Sciencenter also offers both a summer program and a summer camp for science enthusiasts entering grades 7 – 9. Summer camp programs for grades 7 – 9.

School Field Trips & Group Visits

Experience the night sky indoors with the Starlab. The Sciencenter will bring this portable planetarium to your school or organization and take your students on an exciting tour of the constellations. Programs can be tailored to specific grade levels. Topics include: astronomy, earth science, history, and mythology.

  • Capacity: Seating for up to 25 people.
  • Space Requirements: The Starlab requires a 22 by 22 foot space with a ceiling height of 12 feet
  • Cost: $175 for the first show and $75 each additional show.
  • Maximum of five shows per day.
