This
cluster consists of three devices similar to pinball machines. The pinballs
(in this case, the balls are glass marbles) represent: 1) a spec of dust
part of the Dust Tippy Table,
2) a grain of pollen as part of Pollen Pinball, and 3)
a germ as part of Germ Launcher. Each pinball machine
represents the possible journeys taken by one of these particles. The
grain of pollen, can land either in another flower, a bee, or a human
nose. Landing in the bee will result in a buzzing sound while landing
in the nose will produce a sneeze. Triggering sounds will provide incentive
to the children playing the game as well as clue them into the larger
context of microscopic particles.
