Exhibit
Criteria
In addition to the practical issues of flexibility, durability, access,
safety, and maintenance needs, the exhibition criteria addresses the developmental
abilities of the target audience and maximize learning. The selected exhibits
were designed to meet the following criteria:

Interactive, flexible, and open-ended. Using authentic real tools when
possible (microscopes, etc.) Simple low-tech exhibits that kids can
manipulate (no computers, few video screens)
- Inviting and attractive
to families and school groups
- Stimulate dialogue and physical
interaction among visitors
- Fun, active play
- Must related to visitor’s
everyday life; must be relevant
- Graphic panels must be easy
to read, large fonts, large illustrations
- Accurate science content
- Use the process of scientific
discovery
- Exhibit content will be
selected to lay the groundwork for understanding
- Nanobiotechnology and highlight
current research in accordance with the needs and abilities of the audience
and national science educational
standards
