Babbages Basement

Babbage's Basement and Einstein's Attic, the Sciencenter's computer and scientific equipment restoration and resale programs, ceased operations on December 31, 2008.

We are extremely grateful to Emerson Power Transmission for donating space for this program. We also want to thank the dozens of dedicated volunteers who ran Babbage's Basement and offered their expertise and hard work. The items donated by local businesses, organizations, and individuals, plus the financial support of our customers has helped us grow the educational programs at the museum.

The Sciencenter and Babbage's Basement no longer accepts regular donations of used computers and other electronic equipment. Computers can be recycled locally through Tompkins County's Solid Waste Management Division (607-273-6632). For more information, please visit Tompkins County Electronics Recycling.
