Have you ever wondered whether corals are animals or plants, why a toadfish grunts, or what lives inside the sand beds found around coral reefs? The answers may surprise you! Discover the colorful world of coral reefs by asking our experts. Visitors can write down their questions about "The Amazing Coral Reef" on cards provided in the Animal Room. The experts' answers will be posted in a nearby notebook.

Amphibian Habitat

The animal room has an amphibian habitat with a variety of frogs, toads, newts, and salamanders for you and the kids to seek out.

Gecko Habitat

Come check out the golden geckos, marbled geckos, firebelly toads and a leopard frog in the Sciencenter's Saltonstall Animal Room. See if you can spot these well-camouflaged critters as they scale vertical surfaces (including glass)!
