[COVID – Exhibits Info] – We know that experiential learning and play result in the kind of learning that is critical for developing curious, confident, and critical thinkers. We also want to uphold the guidelines put in place by New York state to keep members of our community safe and healthy. As a result, the exhibit galleries at the Sciencenter may look a bit different. In addition to enhancing our cleaning protocols, we’ve decided to create a “hands-off” exhibit experience that still supports experiential learning and play.
Submit a proposal today! – MiniMurals at the Sciencenter
We’re now accepting proposals for a new mural project! We’ve partnered with Ithaca Murals and TCAction to transform our plain fence that faces Franklin Street into a wall of art! The fence will be broken up into 20 separate panels, and each will depict a different mini mural painted by artists in our community. Some potential themes for mural proposals are, “how can science bring a community together?”, “how do you use science every day?”, and “what do you love about the Sciencenter?” This project is open to ALL community members, and the Sciencenter encourages individual artists, family members, and community groups to apply. All mini mural submissions are due by May 17 and should be emailed to the Sciencenter’s Director of Exhibits and Facilities, Adrienne Testa, at email@example.com.
