Earth Hour 2009 was a global event held on March 28 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. EST. People around the world came together to make a bold statement about their concern about climate change by doing something quite simple — turning off their lights for one hour. The Sciencenter Earth Hour Experiment was designed to help families in our local community participate in a truly global initiative on climate change while providing an exciting "at home" opportunity for parents, grandparents and children to conduct a real experiment and engage in the process of science.
