Sciencenter Mission, Vision and Values
Mission
To inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to discover the excitement of science through exhibits and programs that promote learning through interaction.
Vision
To touch the mind of each and every young person in our local community, expanding our reach over time.
Values
As we serve our communities, the following will be critical to our success:
Quality
We must constantly provide the highest quality experiences possible by offering friendly, courteous, and educationally enriching service in a clean and accessible setting.
Staff
Because the excellence of our offerings depends directly on our staff, we must support our paid and volunteer staff by fostering an open and supportive working environment that encourages creativity and training as well as individual and team success.
Volunteerism
We must constantly promote the spirit of volunteerism by training, recognizing, and creatively matching volunteer resources with the needs of the Sciencenter.
Effective Use of Resources
We must aggressively strive to stretch our resources to the fullest by making the best use of our time, funds, in-kind donations, and volunteer efforts.
Community
We must actively improve the quality of life in our community by enhancing our educational system, our environment, tourism, and the local business climate.
Organizational Health
We must continuously improve our ability to achieve our mission by upgrading our internal systems and building our financial health.
Spreading the Word
We must openly share our best practices in exhibits, programs, and museum management with a wider audience by exchanging information, taking part in collaborative projects, participating in conferences, and publishing.
